Blog written by Dr. Matias Fernandez Viña. Medical Director of Stem Cell Therapy Argentina.
Stem Cell Therapy Argentina offers the most advanced Hyperconcentrated PRP in Regenerative Medicine since 2017.
We will briefly discuss the main differences between Conventional PRP and Hyperconcentrated PRP.
PRP has evolved in recent years, and thanks to this super concentration, we can generate better responses in our patients, which is not possible to achieve with conventional PRP.
1. Conventional PRP has a platelet concentration of x3 to x5 times the basal level while hyperconcentrated PRP has a higher platelet concentration, which can reach up to 40 times its concentration. Our standard dose is 15 billion quantified platelets (15 billions).
2. Conventional PRP must be applied multiple times, whereas Hyperconcentrated PRP can be used once with long-term clinical results, according to scientific evidence presented in Nature, Scientific Reports [Bansal] and AJSM [Patel].
3. The extraction volume of a conventional PRP is from 8 to 20ml, while to obtain Hyperconcentrated PRP, extraction doses above 100ml of blood are needed.
4. To prepare Conventional PRP, you do not need many skills. While to prepare Hyperconcentrated PRP, excellent training in Regenerative Medicine is needed to process samples in multiple times.
5. Conventional PRP does NOT work in patients older than 35 years with degenerative orthopedic problems. Hyperconcentrated PRP can bring favorable results in patients from 35 years old up to and including 95 years old, depending on the degree of joint injury.
